We have made a detailed plan for the first week which which is now available on this webpage under "Course plan"

We start on Monday 26 February at 09.15 in Kristine Bonnevies hus (biology building at Blindern), Seminarrom 3203. Looking forward to seeing you all! Anders and Frode

The course plan is updated to specify material to read before the first intensive week. What is included is the following:

1) Two chapters in the text book Bonan (2016):

Chapter 1: Ecosystems and Climate: pp 1-18

Chapter 2: Components of the Earth System: pp 23-38

2) Two journal articles:

Stenseth et al. (2002): Ecological effects of climate fluctuations. Science 297: 1292-1296

Bonan, G.B. (2008). Forests and climate change: forcing, feedbacks, and the climate benefit of forests. Science 320, 1444 – 1449.

F.y.i.: I have been to Academica/Blindern today buying a teachers' ex of the Bonan textbook. There are now 3 ex in the shelves there. I paid 659 NOK.

We are developing the plan for GEO9915. It is placed in the "Course plan" folder on this web page. Note that this document will be continuously updated and details will be filled in when available.

Attendance at the first lecture is compulsory. Students who fail to meet, are considered to have withdrawn from the course unless they have previously given notice to the Studies administration, E-mail address: studieinfo@geo.uio.no.
