KJM-MENA4010 module one (1)

Curriculum in the NMR module in KJM-MENA4010, experiemental methods. The module is active in the period August 23. until September 5. It is expted that 50 % of you work efforts these two weeks are NMR related (40 hours or more). Most of the time you read on your own or perform experiments with the NMR spectrometers. Reccomended book: Timothy, D. W. Claridge: High-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry, 1999. Pergamon Press. ISBN: 0080427987. Pergamon Press. Chapter 1. It is assumed you know the content of pages 1-12 from earlier courses. (KJM3000) Chapter 2. Introducing high resolution NMR. It is assumed that you know the content of pages 13-43 from previous education (KJM3000. Chapter 3. You should read pages 45-110. Practical aspects of high-resolution NMR. Lab course and evaluation: The student shall master the content of ”Manual for 1D NMR. 1H, 13C, 15N, 19F, 31P - one dimensional NMR spectroscopy" without using the manual in real life experiments. The student shall be able to set up, select experiments and implement the use of the automation program ICONNMR with the help of the instructions in “ICONNMR and BACS sample changer manual for Bruker DPX300”. You are supposed to be able to use ICONNMR without the manual. You shall learn to shim a normal NMR-sample (optimize the magnetic field). You shall learn to process and plot two dimensional NMR spectra. At the end of the course you will be examined while you do actual NMR experiments on the spectrometers for one hour in the laboratory. Manuals 1H, 13C, 15N, 19F and 31P One dimensional NMR spectrocopy ICONNMR Processing and Plotting TOCSY, NOESY HSQC Manuals from Bruker Biospin (extra material) Xwinplot ICONNMR_Bruker Copying the book? If you don not want to purchase the book or if it is sold out from the book store you can borrow the book from the teachers and copy the needed pages yourself.
