Fot those who are not speaking Norwegian, the notes by Jean Gallieri about Clifford algebras, Pin and Spin groups can be helpful. I have put a link to them on the webpage

Of course also for norwegian speaking they might be interesting.

Preliminary version of Notes 11 posted. It is not quite finished, so the end must be digested with the usual grain of salt. G

New and hopefully better version of Note 7 on the web.

Have written out the proof of the formula for the character of an induced rep, eliminated some misprints and stupidities.

I have put a preliminary version of Notes 7 on the web. It covers what we did last week and a lot what we did to day. It finishes rather abruptly, but I thought it would be better for you to get it now. Better version will come.

Van den Ban has written some prerequisites for his course basically about different aspects of differential geometry needed. They are to be found on his home page:

To day I finished the "generalities" on Lie groups, and stared slowly on representation theory.

Notes 5 on the web

Last week I started on the Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff-formula, and I ll finish that to morrow. There are two theorems that we will need, but that I will not use time to prove. I ll annonce them to morrow, and they are mentioned in notes 5. proofs are in van den Ban's notes. I also have my own version, but in Norwegian, I ll put it on the web soon.

On friday we start on representation theory.

About the "mandatory assignment", that is our small seminar.

I propose: Tuesday Oct 30 after 12, Wednesday Oct 31 before 14.00 and/or Thursday Nov 1 before 14.00

One is supposed to speak for 20 min, so for ten-twelve people that means about 5 hours. The best thing is probably to divide it into two or three sessions.

You are free to choose your theme (within limits) or if you want I'll give you a theme. You will get the theme 14 days before. I would very much appreciate that those who find their own theme, tell me as soon as possible ( there is work involved in finding themes).

Let us discuss this next tuesday, and then decide about the dates and time, but if could send an e-mail with viewpoints before, the discussion might go smoother.
