We are using a new textbook this year:
James R. Munkres: "Topology", 2nd edition, Prentice Hall, 2000, ISBN: 0-13-181629-2 or ISBN: 0-13-178849-8 (the hardcover and paperback editions seem to have totally different ISBN-numbers)
As we haven't used this text before, it is not easy to specify exactly what we have time to cover, but the plan is to cover most of chapters 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9 (see the preliminary teaching plan for more information). Chapter 1 is not part of the regular syllabus, but contains background information. Most of this will be well-known to many of you, but some parts we shall have to pick up as we go along.
