Hi!

Thank you for the (surprisingly) good attendance on this mornings exercise session (given the early timing)!

As I briefly mentioned in the beginning, I'm open for suggestions as to how my lectures are organized. I suggest the following: the students request exercises for me to go through on the blackboard in the beginning of the lecture, and then we solve these at the end of the lecture. That way you get a chance to work with the exercises at hand before we discuss them in the end.

Later I will revise the structure of the exercise sessions using some form of anonymous questionnaire.

If you have any questions, please send me an email: snorrber@math.uio.no (you can also find my contact-info on my personal page).

Have a nice weekend! / God h?lj!

- Snorre.

In addition to Munkres' textbook "Topology", I maintain some lecture notes (last updated November 20, 2023) and a vocabulary list.  Students are strongly encouraged to (get up early Thursday mornings and) participate in the exercise sessions.  As a supplement, the following collections of sample solutions may be useful.

We will have lectures (by John Rognes) Mondays 14.15-16 and Fridays 10.15-12, and exercise sessions (by Snorre Bergan) Thursdays 08.15-10 (note the new time).  The exercise sessions will be in Room B107 in N. H. Abels hus, while the lectures have mostly been moved to the larger Auditoriums 4 and 2 in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus (with a few exceptions).  See the course schedule for the up-to-date plan for the lectures and the weekly list of exercises.  We will use Canvas for the mandatory assignment (only).
