The notes on the stable stems have been updated.

I have also uploaded Mahowald-Tangora (1967), Mahowald (1968), Tangora (1970), Barratt-Mahowald-Tangora (1970), Bruner (1984), the Bruner-May-McClure-Steinberger (1986) and Kochman-Mahowald (1995), which are papers concerning the calculation of the stable stems using the Adams spectral sequence.

To avoid a collision with other courses, I propose to move the Tuesday 14.15-16 lectures to Monday at 12.15-14, in the same room B638. The first week I will give the same lecture on Monday January 19th and Tuesday January 20th. The second week there will be no lectures, due to the Abel committee meeting in Paris. The third week I will only lecture on Monday February 2nd and Wednesday February 4th.

  • Lecture 1: Monday January 19th at 12.15-14 and Tuesday January 20th at 14.15-16.
  • Lecture 2: Wednesday January 21st at 10.15-12.
  • Lecture 3: Monday February 2nd at 12.15-14.
  • Lecture 4: Wednesday February 4th at 10.15-12.

All lectures are in room B638.

I plan to lecture on the classical Adams spectral sequence, turning information about the cohomology of a spectrum, as a module over the Steenrod algebra, into information about the homotopy of that spectrum.  I will develop notes along the way, starting with the notes from 2012.  See also the collection of papers from that term.
