A solution to the exam is given here.

Due to that many of the questions provided text answers, these solutions was not be the only ones that could give high scores.

A new version of the solutions to the trial exam is put out. Corrections to 2b (derivative wrt beta_k) and to 7e (BIC values) are included.

In general, the following guidelines apply in courses at the Department of Mathematics:

Note that you do not need to have the correct answer. It is enough that you have tried. If you do not know how to solve it, write that in the submision, but perhaps with a sentence on what you do not understand.

This course will be given in English.

The first week(s) the teaching will be digital, a zoom link will be provided within the "Schedule" page. For the first lecture, we will use https://uio.zoom.us/j/67716379094.

Lectures will be recorded. Regarding exercises, this will not be recorded, but solutions of selected exercises will be published on the course web page
