An updated version of the exercise set is now posted. You can find it here. On Thursday we'll go through some of the remaining exercises from last time, as well as the new ones.

Next time I'll start lecturing from chapter 6 in the book. Section 6.2 will be part of the curriculum.

As I mentioned, some of the exercises require stuff that we have not yet covered in class, but you can find the tools you need in the C&B book.   

The course will be taught Thursdays 9:15-12:00 on the eighth floor of Niels Henrik Abels hus, room 819. There will be two hours of lecture and then one hour of exercises. The course material will be from the book Casella and Berger (2002). Statistical Inference. Second Edition. Duxbury. If you don't feel like it, you do not have to spend 568 kroner on this book. Borrow a copy at the library in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus, try googling it, or come talk to me. If you want to, you may also consult other books such as Lehmann and Romano (2005). Testing Statistical Hypotheses. Third edition. Springer, and Lehmann and Casella (1998). Theory of Point Estimation. Second edition. Springer. These are also freely available at the library or by googling. The content of the course will be approximately the same as in previous years. See you in August!
