ENT4194 – Consultancy Project

Course content

In this course you will use the acquired theory and knowledge from your previous entrepreneurship courses in practice by doing a consultancy project for a real life business where such theory and knowledge is vital.

You will be presented for the current situation of the company and what they want to achieve. Then you will investigate different options and provide the company with your recommendations for further actions and the reasoning for your recommendations.

You could also choose to develop a business plan on an idea that you intend to realise in near future, or work on the implementation of an existing business plan.

Learning outcome

In the consultancy project you will experience working in a team towards a deadline with a very limited amount of time, and having a real client judging your performance. If you choose to work with your own project, you will get the true feeling of being an entrepreneur, with all the challenges it involves.

Admission

Admission is currently limited to students in the Gründerskolen programme in Singapore.

Teaching

There will be no traditional teaching. You will be presented to the company, its background and needs, and work independently or in groups with research and documentation. If you choose to work on your own project, you will be required to present a plan for your work and get this approved up front. In both cases you will have access to experienced mentors to give guidance if needed.

The course period will be approximately three weeks in August, following the course at National University of Singapore.

Access to teaching

A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.

You will also have to deliver a written peer review of all group members, or a reflection section assesing your own performance in your individual report. Both groups and individuals will also need to present their work orally and visually.
