Supervised practical training:

The students will participate in the daily work at an internship institution for 8 weeks, but receives no pay. It is emphasised that the internship, as a university course, is a learning opportunity. Interns are not to "take" work from the ordinary staff. The internship institution may be a governmental institution, a hospital, an NGO or other health related businesses or organisations.
Learning outcome
Through continuous evaluation of one’s own work, and the term paper the students must prove their ability to use the theoretical knowledge acquired in the courses offered in the two first semesters of the Master’s Degree. First and foremost, the course offers the possibility of “learning by doing”. The students will also acquire new knowledge through reflexive assessment of their own work. The students should reflect on how the disciplines, theory, and methods are relevant for the tasks they carry out, and what they observe in the working place.
Admission
Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.

The course is only offered to students in the third semester of the master's programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management.
Admission to the course is based on the available number of internship places each semester.
Prerequisites
Formal prerequisite knowledge
This course will only be offered to students in the third semester of the master's programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management. Part time students may apply providing they have at least 30 ECTS from the master's programme and if they are able to attend this course on a full-time basis.

No examination support material is allowed.
Language of examination
All written exams and term papers at the master's programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management have to be conducted in English.

Explanations and appeals
Resit an examination
Students that fail the term paper, may re.-deliver it within one week.
Withdrawal from an examination
It is possible to take the exam up to 3 times. If you withdraw from the exam after the deadline or during the exam, this will be counted as an examination attempt.

Evaluation
The course is subject to continuous evaluation. At regular intervals we also ask students to participate in a more comprehensive evaluation.
