Cancelled Outpatient Clinics and suggested reading

Dear MODULE 6 students (vs March 23, 2020)

Due to the covid-19/corona virus situation, the regular clinical patient teaching sessions are not possible this spring term.

For those students scheduled to attend the outpatient clinic in obstetrics and gynaecology, there will be no substitute web based teaching for these sessions (no ZOOM links), as there is no University lecturer/professor to run these sessions (students usually follow the clinical doctors in their daily work). This also applies for the clinical week at the delivery wards.

Please note: Infertility outpatient clinic at Rikshospitalet and Antenatal outpatient clinic at Ahus will continue as digital learning.

As a substitute for these clinical sessions, we recommend the following self-studies:

  1. Obstetric patient cases: http://meddev.uio.no/elaring/fag/obstgyn/index.shtml
  • (incl. a video):

-test yourself

-what to tell the patient

Thrombosis in pregnancy (incl. a video)

                                   -test yourself

  1. Gynaecology patient cases: Pelvic pain and  dyspareunia

There are e-learning resources posted on the semester    website: Gyn/Obst Clinical Learning resources

ClinicalKeySTudent (Elsevier e-books available for UiO students and teachers at https://www-clinicalkey-com.ezproxy.uio.no/student/login?target=%2Fstudent?

<<<<<log in with your full UiO mail address)

Suggested reading: book chapter (page 43-47): Pelvic pain and dyspareunia - Crash Course Obstetrics and Gynaecology Crash Course Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 7, 43-47

WELCOME to the small group sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays (with 7-9 students). They will follow the normal schedule presented in the semester time table (Timeplan). They will be held by ZOOM, as indicated in the timeplan, and the students may be asked to prepare a patient case in the attachment for the session)

Best of luck with your Spring 2020 studies

With regards from your Module 6 teachers in obstetrics and gynaecology
