Regarding the seminars...

Hi everyone,

Here is some additional information about the seminar structure.

The exercises and required readings for the seminars will be published in CANVAS. Furthermore, in CANVAS I will try to provide you with some helpful links about the topics, some quizzes about the seminars and, perhaps most important, you will help me publish notes from our seminar discussion for everyone to share and discuss. In other words, CANVAS is the place to be. Note, however, that Kalle will still use the course web page for information about his lecture, so keep an eye on this as well.

As I have written in the seminar plan, the seminars will consist of two parts. The first part is a lecture where I will present a topic similar to the topics presented in Kalle’s lectures, but often with a different focus. Here you are encouraged to ask questions and discuss the topic during the lecture. In the second part of each seminar, there will be an open discussion focusing more on Kalle’s lectures – although it may also contain elements from previous seminars. You must prepare to each part. At least a week ahead of each seminar I will publish seminar questions that will be the basis for our discussion, as well as separate required reading lists for the lecture part and for the discussion part. See the seminar plan for more information about the topics.

Remember to be well prepared for each seminar, it is imperative for the quality of the seminars - both for you and for your fellow students. And, I would advice you to go to the seminars you are registered in, since this is the seminar room you have in CANVAS. However, if it does not fit your schedule just go to the other seminar - I will try to make sure both seminar rooms in CANVAS has the same content.

And finally, If you have any questions just send me an email or ask me in the seminars (or in the lectures if I'm there).

Best,

Torje
