Kursbeskrivelse/ Course description:
Faget dreier seg i hovedsak om fremgangsm?ter for ? tallfeste sammenhenger mellom variable som inng?r i ?konomiske teorier og unders?ke hypoteser om slike sammenhenger empirisk. Kurset innholder dels presentasjon og diskusjon av modeller og metoder for analyse av samvariasjon mellom variable, dels anvendelser av metodene p? konkrete problemstillinger og data. Regresjonsanalyse inntar en sentral plass i undervisning og ?velser. Begrepsapparatet fra statistikk benyttes i kurset, og kurset bygger p? kurset: ?Innf?ring i statistisk metodel?re og modellering?.
The course presents and discusses methods for analysing simple econometric models. Regression theory has a central place in the lectures as well as in the seminars, and the various techniques are illustrated by using relevant empirical data. Standard statistical terminology are used troughout the course, and the course builds on the course Statistics 1.
