Hi,

There was a typo in problem 3 part (i), which is fixed now. The probability indicator p_{i} was missing from the summation expression.

Hi,

The coming Wednesday, I will review the economics of fisheries and discuss economics of forestry. Along the way, I hope to provide a unified interpretation of the rule for optimal extraction of resources (both non-renewable such as oil and renewable such as fisheries and forestry) on the basis of modern Capital Theory. Attending seminar-5 is strongly recommended, especially for those who have not attended the lecture on 25th. Please try the seminar problems before hand.

The reference Farzin (1996) for the first lecture is wrong. You should instead read Farzin, Y. H. (1992). The time path of scarcity rent in the theory of exhaustible resources. The Economic Journal102(413), 813-830.
