Course content

You have already made a good start with your education and have made an important choice by starting a master's. The next two years will be filled with exciting courses and academic development. At the same time as you delve into the academics and eventually the work on the master's thesis, it may be wise to raise your gaze towards the road ahead. Which projects have you already started? How do your interests, values, and attitudes affect your life when it comes to education and work?

In this course, you will learn more about how you can successfully navigate your career. Here you will get specific tips on how you can plan ahead, and what you can do while you are still a student. You will learn more about what you can and cannot plan for, and how you can set purposeful goals for yourself along the way.

Learning outcome

Knowledge:

You should have:

  • Knowledge of how you can start the process of planning ahead

  • Knowledge of which tools you can use to plan your own study time

  • Awareness of what you can control and what you cannot control

  • Be able to set purposeful goals for your studies using specific tools

  • Be able to take ownership of your own studies through planning

  • Be able to recognize who you become along the way and how you can identify your motivation for further development

Admission to the course

The course is only available to students associated with a study program at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Teaching

The teaching consists of a combination of digital e-learning modules in Canvas, and two lectures.

The e-learning in Canvas consists of five modules, containing videos, texts, and short reflection tasks.

Participation in the teaching is not compulsory.

Examination

This course is not creditable, and no exam will be held in this subject.
