City campus
The old campus in the city centre hosts the Faculty of Law, including the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights.
Main campus at Blindern
Most of the faculties are located at the main campus at Blindern. The newest addition to the Blindern campus is the University Library, which opened in 2000. The Library not only provides students and staff with literature; the grand lobby and the well appointed auditoriums are also excellent locations for cultural events, conferences and exhibitions.
Right next to the campus is the Oslo Science Park (forskningsparken.no), where the micro and nanotechnology lab MiNa opened in 2004, hosting among other institutions the Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN). The Oslo Innovation Center and its neighbour, the Rikshospitalet University Hospital (oslo-universitetssykehus.no), are both affiliated to the University of Oslo, demonstrating the University of Oslo's unique position as Norway's leading university.
In addition, several hospitals, museums and centres are scattered around the city, including the Botanical Gardens at T?yen and the Viking Ship Museum at Bygd?y.
