Str?mme is a sociologist and has recently finished a term as a postdoctoral research fellow at Centre for the Study of Professions at Oslo Metropolitan University. She has published multiple works on social inequality in the education-system. Key themes in her work include social class, gender, and immigrants/descendants, with a special focus on the system of higher education. She currently works on social inequalities in the academic professions.
