On "Dashboard" you can find instruments by one of the following ways.

Dashboard of BookitLab with several ways to find instruments.

Use of "Asset Search" field to search all relevant instruments

At the top of the page, right to UiO logo, you will find a search field with text "Enter an asset name or asset attribute".

  • With this search field, you can search all types of "assets" (it could be a "core"s, instruments, or services) that may include search terms, regardless the selected "core" for filtering.
  • It is also possible to search with attributes of assets, ex. building name, property of an instrument etc.

Use of quick search field to book an instrument immediately

Under "Hi [user name]! Let's [Book Something (in a dropdown list)]", you will find another search field with description "Enter a resource name to book it".

This field is to be used when you already know which instrument to book, as selecting one instrument from the presented list leads you to the timeline of the selected instrument to book it.

  • By clicking the field, even without typing anything, it will show a list of recently seen or booked instruments (if any).
  • As you type a search word, it shows dynamically a list of instruments that include the search word in the instrument name.
  • The presented list only shows results from the selected "core"s set at filtering option (left side of the [user name] at the top of the screen).
  • Selected "core" can be changed by clicking the blue square with either "core" name or "All Cores" (in case not any "core" is selected) found at the top right on the "Dashboard", between user name and "? (question mark)" icon.

Use of the overview of instruments at each "core"

Under "Browse By Department / Core", there is a list of departments. Each line of department is shown as a closed accordion menu.

By clicking the name of a department, it shows a list of "core"s within the department, each of them is again in the form of closed accordion menu. By clicking the name of a "core", you will see a list of available instruments and services.

  • If you have selected any "core" as a filter, then you will see only the selected "core"s in the list. If no "core" is selected (i.e. if "All Cores" is shown), you will see all the "core"s.
  • Services are marked with a flask icon.
