Elective and obligatory courses

*An “elective course” refers to either a course in Gender Studies or any other course that increases the students’ capacities to analyse and write their MA thesis in Gender Studies. The students should choose their elective courses in cooperation with the programme coordinator and the student adviser. The elective courses may be chosen among the following.

All the obligatory courses in the programme are taught in English. Students also have the option to choose courses taught in Norwegian as elective courses.

During the first year there are three obligatory courses. In the autumn semester, you must take KFL4040 and KFL4050. In the spring semester KFL4000 is obligatory. In the first year, students should therefore choose one elective course in the autumn semester and two elective courses in the spring semester.
