Programme structure

In this programme option you combine courses from the Department of Informatics (IFI) and the Department of Technology Systems (ITS) and write your master’s thesis at IFI.

You choose courses in your first semester in collaboration with your supervisor, based on your academic interests and the subject of your master’s thesis. Please note that some courses may have specific bachelor’s level courses as admission requirement.

You may choose between four different specializations.

  • Every specialization includes recommended courses, but you may also choose other courses.
  • There are no mandatory courses.
  • You must choose half of the ECTS credits from the list of core courses. The core courses are the most central courses within the programme.

(Students who started before 2021 can choose freely from both core courses and other recommended courses.)

You can choose to write either a short or a long master’s thesis. If you choose a short thesis, you will write your thesis in the final semester.
