Programme structure

The Innovation Certificate is composed of a mandatory introductory course, TIK2000 – Innovation and Society,  and elective courses totaling 20 ECTS.

It is recommended to complete the mandatory introductory course TIK2000 – Innovation and Society before the elective courses. 

The mandatory course is taught every autumn semester. The elective courses may be given either in the autumn or the spring semester, or both. Please refer to the course page for each elective course for further details. 

You can either take one elective course totaling 10 ECTS or two elective courses of 5 ECTS, totaling 10 ECTS. The certificate can be completed over one or multiple semesters. 

Please note that many of the elective courses are currently under development. Course pages with further details will be made available as soon as possible. There might be minor changes in the list of available elective courses, and some courses may have separate admission requirements. Please consult the course pages for further information.

The courses in the certificate use a variety of teaching and learning methods. Many courses include group work, field visits and practical exercises, in addition to lectures and seminars. The exact teaching methods depend on which courses you choose, but all courses aim at actively engage students through discussions and seminars.  

Some courses include mandatory attendance and work requirements during the semester. Please see course pages for further details. 

Diploma and degree

When you have completed the courses required to obtain the certificate, you will receive a separate certificate which you will find in the Diploma registry.
