By studying at the master's programme in Philosophy at the University of Oslo, you will be a part of one of the largest and most international philosophical communities in the Nordic Countries.

The programme has two study options

Ancient Philosophy

The study option Ancient Philosophy is for applicants with an academic background in philosophy (or history of ideas, theology, social science or similar subjects) in addition to courses in ancient Greek.

In this study option, you can study ancient philosophy from around 600 BC until early Byzantine times and also improve your competence in ancient Greek.

Philosophy

The study option Philosophy is for applicants with an academic background in philosophy. In this study option, you can study a wide range of philosophical topics.
