Credit transfer of Norwegian education
If you have education from other higher education institutions in Norway, you may apply for credit transfer. The application may include compulsory as well as elective courses.
Credit transfer of foreign education
If you have foreign education, you may apply for credit transfer. If you have studied abroad as an exchange student on one of UiO's agreements, you must apply for credit transfer on return to UiO.
Pre-approval of student exchange periods
Pre-approval confirms that your student exchange period may be approved as part of your degree at UiO, and is also essential for obtaining financial support from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund.
Admission
If you apply for admission on the basis of education from abroad, the processing of your application will include an assessment of your educational background. You can find information on application deadlines and admission requirements on the programme page.
General recognition of education from abroad
General recognition from The Norwegian Directorate of Higher Education and Skills is an aid to those who have education from abroad and will enter the Norwegian labour market.
