FOR MASTER'S LEVEL (10 credits):

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of how the marine insurance market is organized in different types of contracts
  • Understanding of  how these contracts cover different types of economic interests
  • Good knowledge of  the content of hull insurance, loss of hire insurance, war risk insurance and cargo insurance.
  • Understanding  of issues addressed in marine insurance contracts
  • Understanding of the concept of marine insurance and the content of a marine insurance contract.

Skills

  • Analyse legally the content of  insurance contracts within the field of hull insurance, loss of hire insurance, war insurance and cargo insurance
  • Analyse and apply general principles of law within the marine insurance sector
  • Analyse the main concepts within marine Insurance

General competence

  • Be able to perform relevant legal work in law firms, insurance companies, shipping companies or other companies dealing with marine insurance
  • Understanding the most important legal problems in marine insurance
  • Understanding the relevant policy considerations in the marine insurance market.
