PED2780 – ICT and learning in the workplace

Course content
The course provides different theoretical and methodological approaches to ICT-based teaching/training in a work life context.
The focus is the development of the learning environment which integrates learning and work performance.
Learning outcome
The course is designed to give an understanding for various approaches in developing an ICT-based learning environment in a workplace
After the course students should be able to contribute in design, analysis and evaluation such solutions.
Admission
Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.

Prerequisites
Formal prerequisite knowledge
No obligatory prerequisites beyond the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway.
Teaching
Seminar, in combination with netbased activities (Fronter).
Students are expected to participate in the seminars.
It is compulsory to attend the first lecture/seminar. Students who do not attend will loose access to the course. Students who are ill or otherwise prevented from attending the first lecture/seminar must contact the study administration of the course (see contact information on the semester page).
Access to teaching
A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.
Examination
Requirements: (obligatory components):
1. Case-presentations: Students are required to work with relevant problems related to the course literature. Groups must present their work to the other students in the course and lead a plenary discussion.
A closer description of the performance of this requirement will be given in the seminar.
2 . Students are required to write one papers of ca.8 pages. The deadline for the paper will be announced at the beginning of the semester.
Exam: Requirement number 1 must be completed and approved before requirements number 2 may be submitted. The basis for the final grade is dependent on requirement 2 and 2 only.
All study requirements must be delivered within the deadlines announced at the beginning of the semester.
All requirements are to be fulfilled in the same semester.
Grades given: A, B, C, D, E or F (fail)
Examination support material
No examination support material is allowed.
Language of examination
You may submit your response in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English. If you would prefer to have the exam text in English, you may apply to the course administrators.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
