SNE4310 – Counselling and Innovation

Course content

This course is compulsory for students registered on the Special Needs Education Programme.

The course runs together with SNE3310 – Counselling and innovation

  • Facilitation of support groups
  • Innovation in education

  • Knowledge and understanding of the professional role of an adviser/counsellor within the field of special needs education

Admission to the course

Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.

This course is also open for international exchange students at Master`s level with a relevant Bachelor`s degree or equivalent.

Number of places for programme students: approximately 20

Number of places for exchange students: approximately 15

Suitability assessment:

All teaching in special needs education are covered by the Norwegian regulations relating to suitability assessment in higher education.

In special cases, a report of concern/doubt can lead to exclusion from the study. See information about suitability assessments at the Department of Special Needs Education

Formal prerequisite knowledge

For students registered on the full master`s programme the following courses must have been completed:

Obligatory activities:

Attendance:

Attendance at lectures and seminars is compulsory. You are allowed to be absent for a maximum of 20%.

Examination

  • Individual written assignment (e.g. case).

The compulsory component must be completed and approved before you are allowed to take the exam.

Language of examination

The examination text is given in English, and you submit your response in English.

Grading scale

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
