Changes in Nettskjema with TSD after activation

For secure storage in TSD, the form should be thoroughly tested before it is activated but can be opened temporarily for minor adjustments.

What you should not change

If a form has been published, any elements that have already received data should not be changed. This includes question types, answer alternatives, the form's codebook and/or special fields. Changes can have consequences for data quality and can potentially damage the data in the form's data files in TSD.

What you can change

It is best to close the form before making changes. You close a form by switching the toggle in the upper righthand corner (next to the form ID) from open to closed.

You should only make small adjustments to a form, such as small changes to the form's title, plain-text fields, and descriptions for questions and special fields.

You can add new page elements, questions, matrix questions, and special fields to a form. When making changes, it is important to remember to update the codebook so that there are no empty fields there. Please note that this refers to new fields, not modifications to existing elements.

For significant changes: copy the form and activate a new one

If you need to change existing codes, remove questions from the form, ord modify existing answer options, you should replace the form with an edited copy. Make a copy of the form, make the changes, and activate a new form for TSD. Give it a different title so that you can recognize it under "my forms."

To make a copy of a form, go to the form you want to copy, go to the form's settings tab, click on copy form.

Remember to close the form for editing once changes are made

To prevent unintended changes when the form is activated for TSD, it is recommended to not allow editing after the first response. Go to the form's settings tab, scroll down to processing of submissions and choose the option No to editing the form after receiving submissions.

The TSD project admin is responsible for keeping a record of changes.
