Print from a private PC/Mac

All students and employees at UiO can print with Mobilityprint from their own computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Mobilityprint allows you to download drivers and set up the printer queue on your device, regardless of your location and which network you are connected to.

Note:

Not sure if the building you're in is on the new printing system? See the updated overview of which buildings are on the new system.

Simple printing: If you just need simple printing without installing anything, you can print from your browser using Web Print.

Frequently Asked Questions:

I'm printing from my Mac on a new system, why does it say "Hold for authentication"?

If you see this message, you need to authenticate again when printing. This may happen if you have changed your password or entered the wrong password. Click on the symbol marked in the image, then enter your UiO username and password. You should then be able to send the print job to the printer and retrieve your document.

I have changed my password, why am I unable to print?

If you are unable to print after changing your password, you may need to authenticate again.

For Mac computers, you will usually see Waiting for authentication or Hold for authentication, refer to the solution in the previous question.

For Windows users, this should usually work fine. If you are unable to print after changing your password, you may need to set up MobilityPrint again. Refer to the guide above to install MobilityPrint.

Why am I unable to print in color through MobilityPrint?

Some devices may not have the ability to print in color through the Safecom printer queue in the old printing system. You must either print in black and white or send the print job to UiO-Print and retrieve your printout from one of the printers that use the new printing system.

Which printer should I choose when I want to print?

If you are in a building that uses the old printing system, you should send your print job to the Safecom printer queue.

If you are in a building that uses the new printing system, you should send your print job to the UiO-Print printer queue.
