Realtime collaborative writing in Teams

One of the first things you will notice when you start saving Office files in Teams (SharePoint) or OneDrive, is that the save button is replaced with Autosave.



This means that a Word document is saved continuously and you do not risk loosing your work. The document is at the same time continuously syncronized with the cloud. With these features you can collaborate in Word in realtime with one or more colleagues. 

Go to the banner Files in Teams. Here you can create an new Word-, Excel- or Powerpoint document or upload a document you wish to share from your computer. You can also send a link that invites people to work on a document with you. As you see each others' updates, you can chat and share ideas to improve the document further.

Documents can also be opened from the banner Files in Teams. Mark the file you want to open, and click on ... (several choices). From the menu that shows up you can select to Edit in Teams, Open in app, or Open in browser.



When several of you are working on the same Word document, you will see each others' availability and the changes that you perform. To avoid getting in each others' way and attempt to edit at the same time, Word locks the section each of you is working on.
