Learning outcomes

The mandatory courses focus on the basic rules on trade in goods and services under the World Trade Organisation, the core features of bilateral investment treaties, the establishment and interpretation of contracts, including choice of law clauses, as well as the settlement of interstate disputes, investor-state disputes, commercial disputes, and development challenges. Students will gain knowledge about the transnational shifts in institutional and normative frameworks through discussion of concrete, empirical cases.

Students are required to write a thesis on an issue of international economic law. The Faculty of Law will offer supervision from our academics or practitioners with specialised knowledge of the subject chosen.
