You need a username and password
- All employees must have a UiO username and password in order to utilize the IT services as Canvas, Inspera, internet, classroom projectors, and other IT services.
- New or returning ISS course leaders will receive a mail with their user name and password by May 30. If you have not received a user name mail by May 30, please contact Head of Office Sissel Drevsj? (sissel.drevsjo@iss.uio.no), to obtain an account or to update an existing account.
- Guest lecturers without a UiO username and password will be able to request a UiO guest user in advance. Please contact local IT support.
The UiO network
When registered in the UiO system you will be provided with your own server area on the UiO network. You may log on to any on-campus computer with your username and password. When logged on, you may access your server area.
All employees are required to read the rules for the use of IT services at the University of Oslo.

Accessing Canvas
- UiO offers user support in English.
- The ISS Office cannot help you manage the day-to-day work with your Canvas room, but we can assist you if you have problems or questions.
- Go to the Canvas login site and enter your UiO username and password. If your password has expired, you must contact UiO IT Support at USIT.
- Students will be able to access Canvas until the end of the Summer School and should be encouraged to download materials before they have returned home.
- ISS staff only administers access to the relevant room(s) in Canvas. We do not alter the messages or materials that the course leaders or students post in the room.
