Study abroad

An exciting and academically attractive option for your third semester on the master's in Music, Communication and Technology is to go on student exchange to relevant universities abroad. Department of Musicology at UiO has some recommendations that we present below, and we encourage you to use the opportunity to specialize and learn from international scholars abroad.

The application deadline

The application deadline for travel in the autumn semester is February 15th.

Recommended institutions for MCT students

Aalborg University - Denmark

This is a very attractive location for MCT students. View Departement of Musicology's web page about the agreement (in Norwegian) for details and contact information.
University of Aalborg's offers courses of particular interest to MCT students within Sound studio technology and sound analysis, acoustics and psychoacoustics and music pedagogy.

Jyv?skyl? University - Finland

This is a very attractive destination for MCT students. View Department of Musicology's web page about the agreement (in Norwegian) for details and contact information. University of Jyv?skyl?'s offers courses of particular interest to MCT students within music therapy, popular music and music technology. There are also courses within Cognitive research, Neuroscience of music and Music psychology.

University of Melbourne - Australia

MCT students are welcome to apply for exchange to University of Melbourne, where the University of Oslo has a large number of tuition free places and a very good musicology environment is waiting to receive you. This exchange agreement is administered by the UiO central international office, and you can get information from "Knutepunktet": Lucy Smiths hus, ground floor, See map  Opening hours: Mon- Fri 10-15.
