Routines for examiner/teacher in cases regarding academic misconduct/attempted academic misconduct (cheating)

Please follow these guidelines when handling cases regarding academic misconduct/attempted academic misconduct (this also include use of AI, artificial intelligence).

1. Please inform the administration at your department as soon as possible about the case. The  administration will inform the student involved.

2. The examination paper should not be graded. The case is not to be solved through grading, but handled as a case regarding academic misconduct/attempted academic misconduct.

3. Please write a short report about the case; how the case was discovered and what kind of plagarizm you suspect. Relevant documentation must be included (the paper, copies of literature, websites etc.) and forwarded to the administration.

4. All verbatim transcript in the paper must be documented. Do not accusethe student of copying from sources without this beeing thoroughly documented.

5. The grade must not be stated in the report, nor which sanction the examiner consider proper in the case. We emphasise that the student has the right to receive copies of all documents regarding the case, including the examiner¡¯s report.

6. Please note that the student has the right to continue studying and should not be confronted with the suspicion of misconduct in lectures/seminars or during an oral examination (if relevant).

7. The report should provide details whether the students have recieved information about proper use of sources and citations in lecture. Kindly attach copy of handouts and or other written materials.

8. Accusations that is not well documented should not be included in the report.
